Reposted for The Naked Panda. (Yeah, don't ask.)
/n̪ə/;
I ignite fires and dance in the flames
I ride the night on the wings of dark angels
to sit on the sunrise and become the dusk
Follow me,quickly now
Run with me, wild like the wolves
chasing the light of the moon
to the edge of another dimension and jump
into infinity
Ride a shooting star across the universe
drinking in all the wishes
Twisted black
darkness calls to me in the night
Answer, hear me echo in the light
I inflict the pain until it becomes
a sweet release, euphoria
Roll around in your secrets, feel them on my skin
Steal hearts just to break them, watch them shatter
The flames rise higher and higher
never ending with no beginning
I will stop time, give it to you wrapped
in fairy dust and angel tears
The ultimate answer but not the question
I am everything and nothing at once
Burning, dancing through dreams
Seeking those who seek
I ignite fires and dance in the flames
I ride the night on the wings of dark angels
to sit on the sunrise and become the dusk
Follow me,quickly now
Run with me, wild like the wolves
chasing the light of the moon

Could You Live Off The Grid?
Remember The Matrix? Remember Skynet & Arnold Schwarzenegger as a semisolid robot trying to destroy mankind? Sometimes I wonder how far off that is.
Everything today is pretty much controlled by technology. Computers run the world.
Think about an average day:
You wake up & jump online to check your email & scan the news. You stop to get gas on the way to work scanning your Credit Card. At work information is exchanged, networking, & work is accomplished all on computers. Lunch break arrives so you hit the ATM where you scan yet another card, while the cameras look on. Once it's time to head home, you jump in the car & on your cell phone, while towers use the signal to GPS your exact location. Since you were talking you missed your turn & use your vehicles built in navigation system. You finally make it to the grocery store, where they scan those little discount cards that allow somebody to track your purchase history. Back at home, you jump online once more. Maybe some online banking, perhaps a bit of blogging, don't forget to upload photos, then of course Facebook where you share EVERYTHING. All in the safety of your own home thats being monitered by an alarm system. Even if you go to bed at this point, your entire day can be tracked & monitored by machines. Your totally wired.
You, my friend, are on The Grid.
We have become a nation of atuomated consumers. Everything can be done by the click of mouse. Everything is connected from the launch of nuclear bombs to your entire record residing in your drivers license barcode.
The thing is, The Grid hasn't always existed. There was a time when humans actually had to do things themselves. They hunted or caught & prepared their own food. News was passed along in person. They gathered fuel for heat. If they needed a home or furniture they had to fucking BUILD it themselves. Humans were once self reliant.
So let's say there was a Robot/Machine uprising, or you just don't want the goverment clocking your every move, could you live off The Grid? If the situation demanded it, could you be self reliant?
Or have humans evolved to be too dependent on technology?

MONGREL
*Yes I know I don't do music on this Blog but it's my fuckin Blog. Now read it then go listen to this band.
In the current music world dominated by reality show contestants, musicians known for their antics rather than their music, & regurgitated crap - sometimes you run across a band that puts the art back into being an artist. MONGREL is one of those bands.
These guys have a sound that takes you back to the days of rock & punk when it was actually about the music. Blazing guitar riffs are complimented by the bass & drums instead of competing with one another. 'I Refuse' has an early Metallica taste but will also make you wonder where you put that old Black Flag t-shirt. The latest tune in the line up 'Butterknife Sucicide' took me back to blaring NOFX while skating. The influence of classic punk like The Misfits is evident in 'The World Loves A Tragedy' & 'Shut Up Get Dead'.
Though each song has a different feel, lead vocals seem to have a range reminesicent of an early Glenn Danzig. This is most easily heard in 'Bound To Crash'. I'm interested in seeing if this will evolve as Danzigs did over time.
I would recommend checkin' MONGREL out to anyone who likes rock, punk, or just original sound. You can check out some of their tunes free HERE

Follow 'em on Twitter I'm not sure which one is actually twittering, but he's a chill dude so check 'em out & tell him what ya think.
